CHOOSE LIFE

Two track and field athletes are talking. "Your stride needs to be longer."

"Can you fix that?"

"I can't really fix it. You do that. But I can run along-side of you and help you see it differently. Eventually your brain will adjust your stride to a longer stride."

Isn't that a great one to apply to life? We can't fix each other, but we can walk side by side and help each other see things differently.

May we each actually see how Christ unfolds in us.

I am recognizing, accepting and taking full advantage of a new opportunity. May you also recognize, accept and be able to move into your opportunities.

Today life meant a new level of accepting responsibility for making more healthy decisions.

They were teenagers trying to walk in the river.  There was a small rock big enough to be an obstacle.  It depended on how wet you were willing to get to make it past the rock.  Once past the rock one girl and boy were able to walk rather quickly quite a distance.  The other girl and boy sat on the rock.  The couple that experienced walking down the river enjoyed each other.  The couple that experienced sitting on the rock enjoyed each other.  The boy who walked by himself from one side to other and back again enjoyed himself.  The boy who watched him from the bridge enjoyed himself.  Even though the retired teacher with me had just been saying how glad she was to not have to be dealing with teenagers anymore, she easily engaged these people we had never met in conversation.  As the opportunities presented themselves, it seemed second nature to her to individually tell them how he or she had done well at something.

Analogies.  It’s great to camp by the river and enjoy.  In life it is amazing how big something can look when we are focused on getting past an obstacle and how small it really is (lower right corner of the photo).  The actual content of an experience doesn’t really matter when it is the sharing of the experience with someone that matters to you.  Even having two different experiences, the boy on the bridge and the boy walking in the river were still sharing.  I remember Will Rogers as having been quoted that he never met a person he didn’t like.  It is actually possible to train ourselves so that we never consider any person we meet a stranger so that wall just never exists in the first place.  How many other walls to sharing our lives can we eradicate?

I love the story of Tangled since it is so much the story of my own life.  Knowing there is more than being safe in a tower.  Venturing out to find your identity is more than you thought.  Giving up the outward sign of a gift to find out that the gift comes from inside who I AM.  May we each grow in these ways as we are ready and able.

I the Conscious Me can only help my soul have a more positive experience by accepting my higher sense of identity.

We have been focused on the power of God as the out-breath. Cycles have turned and it seems time to focus on the love of God as the in-breath.

August 4, 2012

Life is a process of building our individuality back into the oneness of God's heart.

I open my heart to the love of God.

Let's party. Most people celebrate their physical birthdays. Now I can say that I'm glad that I was born and to be living. Lot's of people have no problem at all saying it. Why not celebrate each day as a new day? One man in a very stressful job interview said to have fun because there is no reason not to. Now, of course, we can think of a lot of reasons, but why go there? Let's think of the reasons to have fun.

This energy is sent out thru the protective filter of Father/Mother God's will
